    good socket 939 mobo

    I'm going to be buying a new mobo and proc coming up pretty soon, I cant decide which mobo to get, I have a x800 xt AGP so the board has to have an AGP slot, I've been looking at the GIGABYTE GA-K8NSC(link here ) but this board has an nforce 3 250 gb chipset, I'm not sure if its any good, I also remember reading about nforce 3 chipsets having issues with some memory, I have 2x1gb pc3200 crucial modules, Well anyways if anyone could recommend a good board with AGP, I'm going to be getting a 3500 or 3700 amd64 to go with it. Thanks!

    AFAIK, there is only one motherboard, just released, based on nForce4 and supports AGP. It's built on an Uli chipset. Anandtech has a write up.

    If you need AGP support for Socket 939 you can go with the nforce3 Ultra, or VIA KT880. The MSI K8N Neo2 is a great board, and it's come down in price. I've had no compatability issues with memory. See the MSI forum for other issues.

    Have they actually released a board with the Uli M1695 chipset? The reviews don't mention an actual released to public board. All the reviews I read seem to like it. Seems they did the AGP and PCIe correctly.

    Of course, after a 10 hour mids shift I could have missed it.

    According to the write up (last page), it will be one month to six weeks before retail Uli M1695 chipset boards appear for sale. I'd still go with nForce3 Ultra, specifically the K8N Neo2.

    I got this board for my brother coz he had a 6600gt agp and it has bein very good with a 3500+ win hes pulling 20000 3d 01 and about 3600 3d 05 so i think it performs good aswell..
    I'm not very tech smart about with of the older 939 chipsets witch are best but this board has be great even with a raid 0 setup with spare storage..
    The memory settings are amazing so many..

    i would suggest anything ECS.. they are teh pwn. I know where you can get one, but it only has 1 agp slot . Also i might add, my fingers smell like my girlfriend.. hah no im just kidding, but for real they do. HAHA

    Ive just completed my first build and used a asus k8v deluxe-revision 2. Knock on wood all systems are go so that's good. I've not tried anytype of overclocking but the bios delivers a wealth of information regarding voltage cores and milliherz etc.etc...The bios is good...intuitve...lots of options. Nice function with the fans quieting down on there own.

    I got it because I had purchased a evga 6800GT about two months before I decided to do this build. If I was starting from scratch I'd look at going with the asus k8v pcie. That's tomorrow's technology for sure. You can start with one video card and add another later as long as they are pci compatible.
