Anybody else have this Diablo 2 bug??

Every time I win a quest, the game kind of freezes for a second (and the DVD drive spins), and when a character speaks it repeats itself. Not a game-killer, but annoying nonetheless! I have it patched via the Battlenet patching.

XP Pro SP1 - GF3 TI500 - 512 MB Ram - MSI KT3 Ultra 2 with XP2100+

Seems like it is having to spin the CD up in order to read something off the disc. Perhaps you could create an image of the game and keep it on your hard drive, thus eliminating the need for the CD?

I agree with MJC. I had a drive do similar things to me. Somehwere I read about changing some settings to correct the issue but don't remember what.

Had something to do with DMA and Power save to the CD/DVD drive.
