    Hi speed usb

When I plug my camera in it says that it can perform better on a hi speed usb.. It tells me to click to check to see if it can fine one....

Well it doesn't find one.. How can I get a hi speed port? Is it a software update or sumtin?

high speed usb is usb 2.0. you need to plug it into a usb2.0 port. if you don't have one, you can buy a pci usb 2.0 card.

It should still be backwards compatible with 1.1, though it'll be a decent bit slower, USB was never a speed king to begin with.

yeah, it'll work on usb1.1, but it'll be about 40 times slower (on paper).

When I needed to upgrade to USB 2.0, it was suggested here at Sysopt to buy an add-on card with the NEC chipset for USB version 2.0

I did that and I have had no problems at all...seems that some of the other chipsets (VIA maybe) have some issues...or did.
