    Epox 8rda+ Pro question.

I was thinking of purchasing the Epox 8RDA+ Pro brand motherboard new because it seems to be very good the more that I read about it. I would like to know what others think about this board before I make a purchase? Also I understand that it has trouble with using ATI graphics cards. If anyone uses this board could you tell me which card would be perfect for it? I was thinking of purchasing the Gigabyte Radeon 9550 GV-R955128T. Any suggestions and comments?

Imo, i think the board is a rock solid board, and an excelant oc'er. I have 2 of the 8rda+ boards. I use the ati cards in both boards with no problems. The only drawback is that they have discontinued the bios updates.

    8rda+ vers. 2
    2500 barton oc'ed to 2.21gig
    pc3200 512x1 infinion (5,2,2,2)
    40gig maxtor hd
    ati 9600 pro w/artic cooler
    xp-pro sp2

this setup has worked great for over a year so far, with very few problems.

    hope this helps a little

I had an 8RDA+ with a Radeon 9800 Pro with no problems. It was a solid board that did overclock really well. I ended up replacing it with a ABIT NF7-S becuase I killed the epox trying to do a vdimm mod.

I would put both the NF7-S and the 8RDA+ at the same level as far as OCing ability and stability. However, if you can get both for around the same price, i'd go for the abit as there is better support for it, especially that the EPoX board has been discontinued for a while now.

I would agree with ramonGTP. If u can try to get a newer board, if u can wait and save the money for one. The new 939 boards price wise are comming down quite a bit since they arrived on the market. Look around these forums and do some research on which board u think would best suit your needs, and what u expect to accomplish with a new system. Good Luck

ps: ask questions and these guys/gals in here are great for help

The EP-8RDA+ Pro is not the same as the old 8RDA+ board that we all loved for its OC'g abilities. The new Pro ver. has the NF2 - 400R chipset , which has native SATA Raid. Its similiar to the 8RDA3+ Pro .
I have not seen or heard of any ATI card issues with it. Likely your hearing old wives tell stories about how ATI cards wont work on a Nvidia mobo. It doesn't take long for rumors to spread when someone can't get his drivers installed correctly.
