Suddently cannot access web pages; ISP problem?

I'm using Windows 2000 Pro. I use IE to connect to the internet via SBC Yahoo dial-up ISP.

This is the 2nd time I'm typing this because last time I hit "submit," it displayed a cannot find server type of message and I was suddently disconnected from the internet.

This type of thing has been happening a lot recently. At least 3 times today, I've had to sign off and back online to view web pages. I would be surfing and when I clicked links, it wouldn't connect and displayed a "cannot find server" type of message. Signing off and back on would temporarily fix the problem until the next time it happened.

I've since cleared cookies and temp files. I scan w/ microsoft anti-spy every morning and avg as well. No viruses or spyware. I also use Kerio personal firewall.

Does this sound like a problem with my ISP? Not only this problem, but I've also been having trouble even dialing into the server, especially the weekends. Sometimes I have to go through 3 numbers before it will finally connect only to get 21 kbps when I normally get 32k.

It just disonnected again, but I managed to copy/paste what I had written. It's storming now, but earlier today it was very nice outside and I had the same problem.

Any ideas? Should I just cancel this ISP and try another?

Check for spyware and viruses first then clear the internet cache.

Also, my assumption would be that if spyware were the problem, it would be more consistant as opposed to the spontinaity of this particular problem.

    Thanks for your input though.

    Sounds like ISP server overload.
