I sure like the Seasonic. That big exhaust fan and rock solid rails are just what I'm looking for. I admit it looks boring but inside - WOW!

While I may disagree with allgamer about appearances,, I do believe a rock solid PSU is important. These seem to pass the tests well as far as performance and that's what counts in my book. Maybe one day I'll get into mods where you can see the PSU and I'll have to change my feelings about fancy looking PSU's, as long as they work as good as they look.

Well after googling other reviews, I changed my mind from the SeaSonic Super Tornado 400W and got the Cooler Master RS-450-ACLY from Newegg. It's a 450 watt unit and has plenty of current on all the rails. It's just as efficient as the Super Tornado and was about $11 less. It has a similar 120mm exhaust fan and it has the new 24 pin ATX connector (with adapter for 20 pin motherboards). The only negative is it's a little noisier than the ST.

Very happy with this PSU. Almost the same unit as the ST except more goodies - like a blue LED and a nice wattage meter that looks good in a Lian Li 3.5" drive bay - so not as "boring"!

Boring is good if it keeps my system stable.

Incidentally, I have the winner, the excellent Antec 550.

Even my system pushes it though. May need higher Wattage one some time in the future.

A friend down the hall who is only recently gotten a new system ( another friend helped him build it is already gotten himself a few things I want myself... and the main thing I have always looked at but put it out of my mind at the moment is the new modular power supplies out, that use plug ins for the PSU and and the output cables that go from it to your components.

The power supply he has is the one i think I am getting real soon...

It is the Xconnect Ultra ( bu you guessed it Ultra ),a company that many of you and myself also have wondered about and possibly naysayed for not being with the big boys..or for whatever other reasons.

That is no longer true according to all the awards and experts now as they also are making some fabulous stuff and quality also. Not cheap.

The unit ( hopefully is shown here as I saved it to my desktop,is the 500 watt unit with UV sensitive lihgts ..two 80 MM fans lighted.. and UV sensitive cables. If looked upon in person it looks awesome inside a case and gets rid of all teh cable wiring problems also.

There are also othe several ways to go about the same result, being you can get cold cathode lights and seperate cables that are UV sensitive..and all of this is not spendy at all.

he turned me on to a site that I Know now is the one I will be using...,which is vry popular called XPCgear.com Again a fantastic site and prices for anything, and they do have everything.

My plan is to get the power supplu which comes with connectors for 2 Sata, one main board and power ,6 HW, I floppy, and one periphial connector as standard. Cables includes and they glow in the dark ( UV sensitive ). Since i have four fans running that use 3 pin connectors.., I will get two of the split adapters from the molex connector..also UV sensitive.
The last thing is a UV sensitive cold cathode tube kit which will light everything up (cables ect..).

The PSU costs $109.00 continuing sale price ( with the extras)

Other very good PSU of differing types and with fans and UV lights ect..are closer to the $68-69 price range. Nice prices throughout.
I just may go this route to save some money ( they have UV cable wraps from the PSU also ) and buy the othe cables seperately for the HD and disk drives.

God, is my inside wiring a mess and i am fed up with it..and no way to practically clean it up with out a lot of hassle.

Check the place out for what they have and you will agree that the site is a gem..good prices and easy to navigate.
