    sc3 sound problem

    ok

i mentioned the problem befor, i have it in every splinter cell game, sound is fine but when i start to shoot my sound just f... up, sounds if metal scratches on the street, its terrible, only have the problem in sc!!

i asked my bro what sound card i have, i forgot
he said audigy player 1 normal or something like that

Someone Stupid posted i should level the output . . . thingy . . . but i dont know what you mean?!

    RockNRoll posted

"Have you tried turning EAX/ 3d audio virtualization off? I forget what the exact name of the option is... But it's under "sound options"

well i cant find that option in the sc3 demo
i just see the 3 bars where i can turn master volume etc up or down, but no ADVANCED SOUND OPTIONS or anything i can click

hope you can help because otherwise its "impossible" for me too play

All of the splinter cell games have a history fo being a bit temperamental when it comes to soundcards, if i were you i wuld check for an updated sound-driver.

that picture's no help - you obviously have a sound card problem and/or ought to try lowering the sound quality as much as possible in game options - and d/l aida32 or sisoft sandra, or look in hardware or device manager (Conrol Panel) to see what kind of card you have?

From here my gues sis that you want to go: "Soundblaster>Live!>Soundblaster (R) Live! TM" Select drivers and go, as you'll see there are a coupel fo patches to the SBL! drivers

Hardware excelleration - go to your sound properties, it should be there, if not, try dxdiag - it has it IIRC

Glad that it worked for you. I've ran into that issue (or similar) on others machines so many times now, especially with onboard, that it is one of the first things I do when troubleshooting games. With EAX moving to more advanced algorithms I figured it possibly has outgrown your card. They need to sell new cards don't they.
