Help me decide on a LCD (19")

Well tomorrow i was going to go out and buy a samsung 19" lcd the 915n modle 800:1, 8ms response, but only anolog that was the only problem i had with it. it retails for 549+tax(canadian)

so i decided to look around and i came across a couple fs adds around me one

    19" benq fp931 for $375, 16ms response, comes digital and anolog, 450:1

    and

    Dell E193FP for $475 again 16ms response, 500:1

i'm so thrown for all of those.... i sorta wanted dvi, i dont really know how the diffrent contrast ratios will come into play
16ms doesnt really worry me to much as i have moved on to MMOPG games not as fast as fps. but i still want a nice picture.

i'm not to sure about colors i'm trying to learn about monitors at the same time some are 16.2 others are 16.7 million... is that THAT big of a diffrence..

anyways any advice would be great guys thanks

if i were you i'll pick the first choice

    (correct spec)

the rest will hurt your eyes after a couple of weeks

Most important thing to look for in LCD is the response time

    the lower the better

then make sure there are no DEAD PIXELS!

i just found a 2005fp dell(20" wide screen) for the same price. dell canada, not sure if the us had this, had a 10 day blow out sale they were selling these for 599. someone who bought one might not want it and i may go buy it from him.

i hear the resis really odd though, like 1608x12(something weird again) and ati doesnt support the res, but if i get the omega drivers i'm fine.

that has dvi, and i hear the screen is amazing(supose to be the same as the apple but again this is only info i read i havent seen one of these)

so that in consiteration i might try this 20" if the guy selling it ever gets back to me >

    what about the Response time?

yeah and it's a ****ty to have such a bad resolution, you will have lots of nasty views with it

programs, games, movies, will look absolutely horrible in it

its a 16ms response... but like i said ive sorta moved to MMOPG and i was using my roomates new samsung with a 20ms resonse and it wasnt so bad....

i figure the way around the crappy veiws in game, is i already play WoW(my mmopg) in window mode, so that should solve that problem... i'm still undecided i guess this has all made me slow down and maybe wait a couple more days to see what comes up.

again all the info is great guys everything you say makes me think about my "big" purchase... maybe i should go 19" ctr, and get anohter hard drive and go to 2 gig ram, hehehe :P

I like my Samsung SyncMaster 191T 19" LCD alot.

I have had it for about 2 years now with no issues at all.

    Have it hooked up DVI.

you are crazy, wasting your money like that

just stay with the 19" 8ms one that you mentioned

    everything else is garbage

Besides if you really want BIG

then you should go for a Projector instead of the LCD

aim at any big large wall, and you will have the nicest sharpest and fastest gaming rig ever
