What's the dilly with memory.
When I eventually get my new pc I want to get pc3200 512, but there are SOOO many different kinds.. I could find Generic 3200 512 for like $33. I could guess that generic isn't as good as kingston and crucial but what is the difference?
On zip fly zoom they have crucial 2 512 for like $114. Sounds like a good deal. But I could get 2 15 for like 65. so I'm soo confused...... so this goes out to the memory experts.. if you could send me idea's it be SUPER!!

Ram is very important and I will agree that Crucial is pretty good. The normally make CAS 3, but is is normally fairly compliant with mild overclocking. The best thing in my opinion is that it is cooler running as it is single sided. Crucial always uses Micron chips (Maybe because Micron owns Crucial, that might be the motivation.)
I have Corsair, Crucial, Kingston, Mushkin, Samsung and Super Talent. All good in their own niche
you have three CAS levels normally, CAS 3 is the lesser performing parts, CAS 2.5 are medium and CAS 2 are normally the better parts. Most makers have all three with CAS 2 being their "Performance" series and higher priced.
RAM is the most important Item beyond the CPU and motherboard.

Crucial and Kingston are good brands of memory to buy, but the ones mentioned in your motherboard manual has been certified to work for sure on your motherboard! In other words, there is no question on its compatibility.
Normally cheap memory would just be an aggravation since in the event that it does not function properly, it would just be a hassle to return and/or RMA back to where you purchased it from.
