A: drive help
My a: drive does not work. When I insert a disk into it and try to open it through explorer it says that the drive is not accessable. The problem started when I installed my CD-R. I have and eide CD-R. it's the HP 8210i. I set it up as my master CD. I also have a regular atapi CD-rom set as slave. When I installed the CD-R my a: drive didn't work and I thought it was a bad connection but I changed everything and nothing happened. The light on the Drive always stays on. I need help to get it working again because I need it to get Norton Antivirus to work so I can Delete the Virus that I have on my computer. Please help I think it might be something with the BIOS setup I'm not sure. But I really need your help. feel free to e-mail me your suggestions!! Thank you!

The usual reason for a floppy drive light staying on all the time is a reversed ribbon cable (the twisted end which goes into the back of the drive). Shut down and try reversing this cable...or at the very least, make sure that it is plugged-in properly at both ends. It is possible that the ribbon cable worked itself loose when you installed your cd writer.
Good Luck,
Paul
