    Stock Athlon 64 3000+ a lil high?

How come when I run Easytune 4 it's telling me that my processor is running at 2009.77 mHz? Is this just one of those "all speeds will be a little off because it's impossible to make them exactly 2000 mhz? (2ghz)?"

There's nothing wrong. Some boards actually cheat and do that on purpose.

Actually...you have a setting incorrect, unless you overclocked it on purpose.

    A stock AMD 64 3000+ runs at 1.8GHz...

(And I fully intend on OC'ing the one I buy to 2.2 GHz when I get it next week...

    **Edit.

My apologies. The Newcastle core 3000+ Clocks stock @ 2.0 GHz.

The Winchester I've been looking at for quite some time Clock at 1.8 stock...

    Sorry....yep, what AG...

Ok it's as I thought... Mine is a NewCastle core.

I was talking about the extra 9.77 mhz dajogejr.

    Thanks.

    Yeah...I gotcha.
    I'm about ready to get an MSI K8N combo'd with a 3000 Winchester...that's why I chimed in...a bit premature, I'm afraid.

Cool, is that the Socket 939 version?

I was somewhat sad when I saw the 939 3000+ at $162 when I paid $161 for my 754... LOL! But on the other hand the mobo's aren't that cheap for 939's.

Well...they're not that much more, either.
I think the MSI K8N Neo for the 754 is just over 100...where the 939 is hovering at 130ish...

754 (Not in stock at the moment)

Um, my bad, it's $76... LOL! Whoops. Actually I think it was a little lower at my time of purchase.

754 is out of date already...its going to be phased out (or already is) sorta like the 940...its gone...

Its primarily the 939 that you have to pay attention too...
