Whoops... Lost folder after format.
I lost a folder that had some game dev stuff in it I was working on. Is there any way I can get it back? I formatted my PC and re-installed windows. I'm guessing I'm stuck without it.

Yeh lol. Here's the thing though. I could've sworn I put the folder in 3 locations... But, here's what happened. I:
(1.) Forgot I removed it and meant to put it on the next CD
(2.) It was never on my usb flash drive
(3.) Dad kept the wrong folder (older one) and formatted to re-install windows
My last hope is my old harddrive from my other PC.
Thanks for that link.

Why does it say do not install GetDataBack on the drive I want to recover data from? This is the only drive I have in here.

you need a target drive in addition to the drive you are pulling the data off of. you cannot do recoveries with just one hdd.

Can I do it on a network then? Like, install the software on Dad's PC and recover from there?

Depends on the software. Read the documentation.

It means you have a demo/trial version and they want you to buy a full version. What version number do you have and is it for FAT or NTFS? You never install data recovery software to the drive with lost data because the installation might further overwrite the lost data making it impossible to recover. Also when recovering files save them to a different drive for the same reason.
