    What to do?

I am upgrading my current computer and putting the spare parts into a 2nd pc. In my current pc i have a 120GB ata133 hard drive as master and my cd-rw as slave. Problem is my motherboard (Abit AG8) is only ata100 and only has 1 ata slot that only supports 2 devices which are occupied by the 2 mentioned above. This is just the start of my dilemma. Not too long ago I bought a 200GB and 80GB hard drive. Problem was I thought I ordered SATA for both of those, but the 200GB is ata133 and the 80GB is SATA. My original plan was to take the 80GB and put the OS on it and use the 200GB as storage and take the 120GB out and put in the 2nd pc. What would you do?

Option 1: Put in the 80GB SATA, install the OS, take out the 120GB and put in 2nd pc and use the 200GB in current computer for storage on ata100.

Option 2: Buy PCI to ATA133 controller card and use 120GB and 200GB in current computer on the PCI card and put 80GB SATA in 2nd pc.

Option 3: Buy another SATA and use 80GB for OS in current computer, another SATA for storage, 200GB for storage(i know this sounds ridiculous) and put 120GB in 2nd pc.

    confused yet?

Option 1 sounds quite reasonable on the face of it. You could always add a PCI controller to that configuration as well.
Tell us a little about the second computer. Does it have an ATA133 controller?

The reason I'm having so much difficulty deciding is, I'm probably going to sell the other computer. The other computer has two IDE hookups on the motherboard (Asus A7N8X-Deluxe).

ATA100 or 133 doesn't matter. no single drive can get up to those speeds. They are both EIDE.

    option 1 sounds ok.

    AG8 system:
    SATA: 80
    IDE: 200-master, CDRW-slave

Yeah it seems to be the best and easiest option, so as soon as the 80GB gets here I will do that. I'm not familiar with SATA drives, are they hard to set up?

not really. one cable, one drive. you'll probably have to use the f6 option when you install xp.
