    Nforce3 AGP disabled

I can't seem to get my new system to work in AGP mode. No matter what I do the video card only runs in PCI mode (it is in the AGP slot.)

    System Specs
    Athlon64 3000+ (S754)
    Soltek SL-K8N2E-GR motherboard
    (5.1 Drivers)
    521MB PC3200 Samsung RAM
    Radeon 9500 Pro
    (Catalyst 4.12)
    WinXP SP2

Running all onboard sound and network as system would not complete 3DMark05 with SBLive and Cat 4.12's. Going to the onboard sound helped that but system is still registering video as PCI.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the vid card, reinstalled the chipset drivers, am running the latest GART driver but it's still showing up in PCI mode.

    I'm getting decent enough performance (I think -- 14k 3DMark01SE, 1700 3DMark05) but I want the AGP mode.

What are BIOS settings? AGP is set to 8X/auto and Initial Display Device set to AGP? Tried different graphics drivers?

The order of driver installs is sometimes very crucial. Chipset, mobo, ide, AGP, then sound , and so on.

Not sure how/if, can XP start in safe, in order to see the hidden/ghost/old drivers not visible in normal. Make sure to remove all of them.

Have you also tried another agp card, or that card on another pc?

Sounds like possibly soem type of counter-intuitive bios setting?

I finally got it to work and be recognized in some situations but not all. Reset the aperture down to 128MB and forced 4x then went back to Auto and it seemed to take.

Original install had been XP+SP2+nForce+Cats. Removed Cats (4.11) reinstalled nForce and reinstalled Cats (4.12 this time) and it seemed to work.

However 3DMark still doesn't see it.
