Ballistix PC3200 ver PC4000
What would be a better perfomer for games on a MSI K8N NEO2 Platinuim w/ a AMD 64 FX-55 cpu.
The Crucial Ballistix PC3200 w/ tighter timmings & slower freq. or the Ballistix PC4000 w/ looser timmings & faster freq?

are you going to overclock or not? if not, then get the 3200s. The 3200s will still OC good, but you may have to loosen the timings.

If it's significantly faster I was thinking of raising the the fsb from 200mhz to 250mhz which is overclocked for pc3200 and the MSI MB but normal for the pc4000.
The pc4000 is only $16 more so money isn't a issue.
I'm not interested in clocking to the edge, I want fast but stable system without risking burning something out. So somewhere in the middle.
What do you mean loose the timmings. You suggested the pc3200 which has faster timings @200mhz.
Are you saying the pc3200 won't keep up with the timmings as you increase the fsb?

if you try to OC with the lowest timings, the system will be less stable. PC4000 has looser timings (higher latency) which enables it to run stable at 250mhz fsb. if you don't understand timings, it would probably be better for you to get PC4000 and use the default timings.

Thanks for the advice.
Since I'm not an experianced oc I will just set the automatic dynamic overclocking to 11% for this MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum.
With that being said would you recommend the PC3200 or PC4000?

In your case, it would be better to get the PC4000. Just install them and take the default settings.
