Apache Logfile Viewer
Hello, I am having some trouble setting up a log file viewer for Apache. I have AWStats and Analog, have poured over the documentation and cannot seem to figure how to set either up to decipher my log files. Could anybody please help me in setting these up, or do you know any good log viewer proggies and how to set them up?? Thanks in advance!

What operating system? Do you have Perl installed? You've gone over the setup file right?

Windows XP Pro, yes perl is installed, and i have gone over the setup file and set up everything like it says, i think. I just can't figure it out...it generates blank pages.

This is a really stupid question, and I certainly don't mean to insult you or anything, but I have to ask....have you verified that your log-files actually have something in them? They're just text files, you can open them with Notepad.
It sounds like you're not getting any error messages or anything, so I guess Perl is up and running OK...are you able to successfully run any other Perl scripts (I use PHP, don't know if the Perl install comes with any test scripts...)

The log file might be empty, but the access log should definetely have something in it. SB is right thought, you should check to make to you logs are active like they should be.
I'm going to try and install this in the next couple days and I'll see if I have any problems. Hang tight...my school finals are just about over.

as far as I know, I only have two log files...the access log file and the error log file, right? If there are more then that's prolly my problem...but, no they are not empty, i have verified this several times...this is what a line typically looks like in the access log:
66.79.163.20 - - [12/Dec/2004:12:47:22 -0600] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 167
that's ok, no offense taken...i understand it's a part of troubleshooting as I have learned with dell many times. and perl scripts, well i don't think I have any other ones. And by blank pages I mean, the page has stuff on it, but it acts like all the input data is "0." I'm sure I just don't have the config files setup right.
