how to speed up win2k shutdown?
Hello,
I began having this problem after I reinstall win2k. Since then, the shutdown process takes quite long as compared to before. Is there anything I need to look at to enable a quicker shutdown process?
thanks!

Try pressing the power button on the PC. It will shut down faster.
Just try it - one quick press.

huh? ok maybe i'm not wording it clearly. upon shutdown, win2k spends alot of time on the "Shutting Down" section. It wasn't like this before.

Are you on a network? If so disable terminal services.

Start > Run and type services.msc /s. Find "Terminal Services" on the list and double click on it. Change startup type to “disabled” or “manual” and click OK. You need to reboot afterward.
Or you can find it by right click My Computer > Manage > Services. Same instructions to disable from there.

I didn't think Windows 2000 workstation edition had terminal services has an option.
