    help with purchasing new monitor

hey guys I need help in deciding whether to get the 20' Dell 2001FP or the 17' Samsung 710T. The major difference between the two is price and size.

The 17' samsung has a 12 MS response time and the 20' Dell has a 16 MS response time

The Dell is priced around 799.99 retail
and the Samsung is 425.99 retail

is it worth the 3 inches for 370 more dollars or should I just settle for the Samsung because I have heard it works great for gaming

Are you dead-set on a LCD or is a CRT still an option?

dead set for LCD, i got a aging 20 inch Viewsonic its starting to die on me, but I would really like to have less eye stress considering I spend a lot of time on the computer and the extra desk space is always a major plus

so yes I'm pretty much heading in the way for an LCD

I have heard a LOT about 17" Samsung LCDs being good for gaming...the bigger the monitor the worse the LCD gaming with the technology today IMO.

I would go with the Samsung 710T and save a little extra money, however if it were me, I would go with the Dell seeing as it can hit 1600x1200 resolution and that's what I always game at. But if you don't have a high end graphics card I would stick with the Samsung because it's native/max resolution is 1280x1024, which would be better for a lower end graphics card.
