Cannot figure out where to Connect Sound to mobo...

My digi camera is NOT working as of now. So this is going to be asking a lot of out everyone i know, but where on earth do I connect my [SPEAKER] cable to my mobo?


I have an Intel D845GLVA. It came with the Emachines T1840. I got a new case... the AeroCool JR, http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...196-002&depa=0 nd I forgot to notice where the Sound plugs in. I've been soundless for the last 3 days trying to figure this out. If you can help me, please do so. Thanks.

CAUTION
Do not move any jumpers with the power on. Always turn off the power and unplug the power cord from the computer before changing a jumper setting. Otherwise, the Desktop Board could be damaged.

The figure below shows the location of the jumper blocks.

Front Panel Audio Connector/Jumper Block

This connector has two functions:

With jumpers installed, the audio line out signals are routed to the back panel audio line out connector.
With jumpers removed, the connector provides audio line out and mic in signals for front panel audio connectors.
The table below describes the two configurations of this connector/jumper block.

CAUTION
Do not place jumpers on this block in any configuration other than the one described in the table below. Other jumper configurations are not supported and could damage the Desktop Board.

Integrator's Note:
When the jumpers are removed and this connector is used for front panel audio, the back panel audio line out and mic in connectors are disabled.

BIOS Setup Configuration Jumper Settings


The 3-pin jumper block determines the BIOS Setup program's mode. The table below describes the jumper settings for the three modes: normal, configure, and recovery. When the jumper is set to configuration mode and the computer is powered-up, the BIOS compares the processor version and the microcode version in the BIOS and reports if the two match.

Function/Mode Jumpter Setting Configuration
Normal 1-2 The BIOS uses current configuraiton information and passwords for booting.
Configure 2-3 After the POST runs, Setup runs automatically. The maintenance menu is displayed.
Recovery None The BIOS attempts to recover the BIOS configuration. A recovery diskette is required.

OK, I plugged it between the PCI ports, because that is what's there and i still dont hear anything... also, where do i plug in the microphone plugs?

The microphone plugs should be in the same place as the Audio, you must make sure you are connecting them connectors in the right order.

If you have onboard sound, go to the BIOS to see if it’s disabled or Enabled. if its Enabled disable it then try the sound. If your Audio is Enabled in your BIOS your computer will default to that automatically if im correct.

Try this user manual for your mother board, to get into the BIOS on this board I think you have to keep Pressing F2 on Boot up.

well I do, but im working on two computers while Im jumping on and of here, and its 2.00 in the morning and im about ready to hit the counting sheep time. just look over the manual for now. im sure someone will help you out to while im sleeping there are some guys in here who know a hell lot more than me.

Download the Quick Reference Guide and look at page 4. It shows where to plug in the speakers and mic on the back panel connectors:

OK, I got the sound working, now I have these little Mic Single Pins I need to put in somewhere....
