    Creative uses for CD/DVD coasters?

Does anyone have any creative uses for CD/DVD coasters that result from bad burns, or free AOL/Earthlink/PeopleSoft, etc CDs?

I did read that the shiny reflective underside scares any birds (or pigeons) because they are scared of their own reflections.

What do you do? I hope you don't just throw them in the garbage.

I use them to help fill land fills. However, whenever i get done with a burned audio CD I give it away to kids at the video store or the drug store instead of throwing it in the trash. They tell me good bands to luck up I never would have had the opportunity to check out in exchange for a copy when I get sick of it. The RIAA may be killing P2P but the sneakernet is still thriving in my neighborhood.

I know someone who wallpapered their bathroom with them.

You could glue them to the rust on your gremlin i guess,

Glue them all to the back of your car so when somebody brights you from behind at night they'll be un-pleasantly suprised.

Remember the old aluminum pie tins for scaring birds outa the garden? Well, take a hot poker or small screwdriver ( one you don't care about ) and melt a small hole about a 1/4 inch from the edge and tie it up with a thread instead, work great and they don't fall apart like the old pie tins.

They do make neat hi tech coasters too.

I usually just throw an empty beer bottle back at them.

I made a pretty decent wall clock from a coaster. If I could just paint numbers better. (or find a set of stick-on numbers).

You could file some serrated edges on them and give them to the kids as ninja throwing stars.
