Device mangler will not delete 2 monitors
Device mangler unable to remove two "default monitor " entries either in nl or safe mode, despite multiple deletions from properties. How do I get it to not recognize (falsely) 2 monitors?
I've never ran 2 cards, only 1 agp alwaysw/only 1 monitor.
Running fresh install of winME, fully updated and patched, on K 62 350, Asus P5aB. I guess I could reformat (again)...but I'm wondering about the cause of this behaviour, and why it always auto senses and installs 2 drivers for the mx200 video card on a sony crt. Checking in video properties also doesn't have anywhere I can find to disable 2nd monitor. The video properties shows two monitors and two different monitors below. How do I disable that ? Ive even tried to set those and cannot. Is there some special nvidia display managment program involved, I don't believe I have seen two monitors even show up in display properties. There seems no way to disable or remove one monitor here..I suspect this is related to why device manger pulls up 2 monitors also, and those always autosense on reboot after deletion.
Is it a video card conflict with motherboard? I did upgrade from a trident 9850 2agp and added 512 memory. The dvd and cdburner work well, and I am waiting newegg to hatch me a 500 chip for a paltry $14. It has an isa parallel port, soundblasterlive, and 3com 950tx10/100NIC, floppy, cd, dvd, and cd/rw, but that doesn't matter

Your video card supports dual monitors even if it only has one connection. I also had a setup like you - same CPU, same mobo etc...
My GF4 gave me two default monitors because it had the ability. Even if you delete them, Windows will redetect and install them.
I had issues with that board and a 500Mhz CPU. The board was released before the CPU and I had an early revision. It works, but I had random lock-ups until I went back to my 350. I know the CPU is good because I put it another computer of mine for a year before giving it away.

Well then that settles it! Appreciate the tip, didn't want to release this one without knowing if something was not right.

I have a K6-2+ @600 on a P5a-b running Me that is very stable. It took some tweaking, but it sure has paid off. I think it has a TNT2 in it.

I'm finishing the last of 6 refurbs/retrofits, they are sure the mainstay survivors.
Lots of ram at 100.( I guess the 105 fsb is not available without k63+) Very stable and reliable, proven to do dvd playback and 48x cdr burning. Of course the zonealrm, avg7 are shutdown during the burn.
