Awesome 9800Pro prices - genuine?
http://www.clickonit.com/product.php...t=198746&ext=1
A quick search on kelkoo.co.uk for a 9800pro card yielded some prices lower than the 9600xt. Im particularly interested in this Power Colour, although I've never heard of them and I'm a bit out of touch with the graphics market nowadays. I have a Novatech 9600xt atm, but I have the chance to flog it and get one of these 9800pro's. Anyone know anything about Power Colour, or Peak? Thanks very much

You should be going to Microdirect!

You should be going to Microdirect!
I do, I have a corporate account with them.

Cheers for the replies.
Ive started choosing Novatech as my main dealer, just because they are so reliable. I might look at microdirect though. You reckon I'm safe with Power Colour then?
Cheers

Powercolor are fine, they are akin to Sparkle in my view. Not the best performance, but often great value for money. It is Micro Direct by the way, www.microdirect.co.uk. I did have a look just now though, and they seem to have removed their unbranded 9800 pro from sale. That was good value last time I checked.

Yeah I checked Micro Direct. I think I'm going to go with a Power Colour 9800pro 128mb next week, and use my 9600xt in a build for a friend.
Cheers for all the help

From the specs on that site:
128-bit memory interface
I thought only Sapphire was guilty of making those

What should it be?

Just checked the ATI site, and they spec 256bit memory interfaces. Would the upgrade still be worth it, coming from a 9600xt. I'll be shelling out an extra £25.

I wouldn't get a 128-bit one, they're crippled cards...
-
Ah ok, thanks for that.
I reckon I'll stick with my 9600xt, it was just an opportunistic thing.
Thanks for the help.

I'm on my second Powercolor card now. They are a solid reliable product and reasonably priced.
