    2.66 ghz pins bent

    Ok.. 4 one i didn't do it..... another the pins on this p4 2.66 are messed up bad. They are bent over bad . I am going to try to get them back so they will fit. But when they are bent over what are the chances of them breaking? i mean they are bent over bad. I dont want to waste a good p4. Help!

    You can try to fix it, but I doubt it. Those pins are very fragile, and when one breaks, Bye Bye P4

    i did that to my dell processor a 2.53ghz two of the pins bent off, take a small paper and spend about 3 hours on a sunday and you will fix it , takes good will power and it works fine, just don't bent to many off

    Use those little straws that come with canned air, they work great for this type of thing. Slide it over the bent pin and ever so gently torque it the other way. I’ve used it before on a sound blaster card that had bent pins. Some of them were almost touching each other. Not sure how bad your pins are bent, it’s worth a shot though.

    I like to use a small pocket knife. I can straighten several pins at the same time and make sure they are all at the in line using the blade as a stright edge.
