Where the heck is it?
I got so fed up with all the error messages and funny things going on that I decided. OK, I was in too big a hurry to get this thing up and running along with two others to the point I didn't do this one correctly. So, I am taking my time, and starting from scratch. But, I have run into a little problem that needs a smilie face scrathing its head? ???? Aren't enough.
I want to return my address book back into the application/MS folder but, there are a bunch of things missing? When I go into C/documents and settings/user folder/application data, (2 files) where the address book and allot of other files should be. They are not there. And yes, I have gone in and unclicked to show all files. The address book SHOULD be in the MS folder, but its not there. Just "credentials, I E and System Certificates. I also noticed that "My Videios: file in "My documents" is missing as well. So, what did I do wrong? I did a clean XP install just like I have always done, but this time there are allot of things missing. HELP!!!! I don't want to do this again!!!!!

I am struggling to understand your post but are you saying that you wiped your HDD, did a fresh XP install, and now you're surprised that the files that used to be there aren't there anymore?

It's one crisis after another, eh? Perhaps you should ask *before* embarking on these endeavors.
Search your hard drive for *.WAB. They are not always in the same place.

I guess the critical questions are 1) did you backup your data before you did whatever, and 2) did you let XP reformat the hard drive? Answer these and your questions will probably be answered with your answers.

I'm sorry I didn't clerify. It was late, I was tired and frustrated, you name it.
In my haste to get three computers done in warp speed I failed to keep an eye on my new one and its needs. Now I have been having problem after problem with it. As Bipolarbill states. You know the old saying, Haste caused allot of hell!!!! Maybe not in those exact words.
Yes I am using XP, I did do a quick format but now think I should have done the lonnnnnnng one. I did backup my files, no problem there, but the address book which normaly is in the application file/ms file, etc etc is not there as usual. I have done allot of format and reloads with XP and never run into this lost file thing before. The address book has always been there for me to exchange with my saved OE address book, so I never lost my addresses. This time it is not there. I will look for the .*wab file while I wait for your answer and see what comes up, if anything.
No not surprised files are gone, surprised files that should be there after a F & R are not there. MS folders, etc.

Be careful. Look for *.WAB - not .*WAB. There is a world of difference.
In the future, try exporting the address book beforehand.

Bipolarbill. Can I have your avitar?
Reason being, I should be doing that right now. Not out of frustration, but out of stupidity!!! All a person has to do is open OE, close it, then go to "application data file and the address book shows up where it wasn't before. Also, found out the reason it would not accept my saved address files before was because of ONE measly space. What can not necessiairly be seen by the eye, the computer knows intantly. So, what was down as "A Barter" was actually "A Barter" Makes one big difference. You would think I would pay more attention, like when I make applet web pages. But no, have to make things harder for myself and give others a chuckle.
Thanks. I am hoping for the rest to go smoothly and get thing RIGHT this time. LOL
