    Incd?

    hi

do any of you lads or lasses know what a program called Incd is?

I am tuning up a co-workers computer,I am familiar with the majority of programs on it, but have never heard of Incd. and it seems to load on boot and runs in the task bar. it has formating options if you right klick on it but no close or disable, just seems strange to me, but hey its an hp, so nothing surprises me.

    thanks for any info.

    ward.

InCD is the software used by Ahead Software (Nero CD Burnign Software) to allow writing to CD-RW's in the UDF file format.

Kepp it installed to use CD-RW's like large floppy disks.

    UDF
Universal Disc Format standard of the Optical Storage Technology Association designed to create a practical subset of the ISO/IEC 13346 random-access file system and volume structure format.

Like rraehal said, it basically turns a CD into a 700mb floppy, allowing from drag-and-drop of files, and a few other things.

Its ok that there isn't a burner installed, if you have the UDF program, you'll still be able to read UDF cd's, just not be able to create them.

well that sounds pretty cool. I will have to look into that myself.

this was a buisness machine, the doughter bought it from dad, and is going to give it to her son. its acualy not a bad rig, 1100 MGz, but it only has a 4mb on board vid card. I am asuming its up gradeable, but i asumed that on my hp, and the 32 mb on board graphics set up is not upgrade able.

besides the vid card i bought it cost me $65 bucks shop time at the local computer store to find out i wasent stupid, it just wasent posible.
