Dual boot: win2k/XP

Hello,
currently I have a dual boot with win2k and win98se(for games). However of late, i find that alot of device companies are no longer producing win98 drivers (or optimised for it). So I have but no choice to replace 98 with XP.
I like to know if it's ok to format the 98 drive, and then install XP. will Boot Manager recognize XP and win2k after that?
Also I have 256mb RAM. Is that ok for XP? Or 512mb at minimum?

Is this 1 driver or 2? Cause you can do a dual boot from 1 drive or 2 or more.

Do NOT format the C drive because the bootfiles are there. Instead, run the upgrade on Windows 98. If you are using WinXP OEM, just force the installation to the C drive.

Why don't you save your money and just run 2k? You could use the money you saved not buying xp and get some more ram.

XP with 256MB is OK, but you will need more for heavy gaming or graphics.

isn't it a good practice to install XP from scratch? rather than to upgrade from win98.
I have two HDD. each disk per OS. Hmmm... the bootfiles may be on C where win98 resides. Is there a way to find out?

Yes - look. If NTLDR abd BOOT.INI are there, so are the bootloader.

You must have hidden system files disabled to see these.

You can always boot from the XP CD and force installation to the Win98 partition. You will have to manually delete all the extraa old programs though.
