    worth the difference

I am looking at getting either a 6800gt or x800 pro vivo both are about £300 but I have found a shaphire x800 xt for £28 more, is it worth the extra?

Yes, saves you the hassel of modding the X800 and is faster then both.

Not all VIVO's will flash and hold their speed. You can open all pipes nearly always, but you may not get a PE's speed, and even some people can't hold a normal XT's speed (but come close). For 50 more (US), I'd just get the XT as you then have a warranty. I went the other route and flashed successfully, but if you look at newegg, all those VIVO refurbs are generally from cards that couldn't handle XT speeds - as the pipes seem good from everything I've read. Some VIVO's also now shipped locked reportedly. Powercolor doesn't, but if you can get an XT for 50 instead of 150 more, I'd pay the 50.
