    PS2 online

Hi i am trying to play my playstation 2 online and at the moment i blug a cable in to the pc and PS2 but it is very slow because it shares the connection. Because my ADSL Modem only has a USB port. Is their a cable that can go from the other end of a USB to an RJ45 port? I can find one that is for a normal rectangular end but i need one for the other end of a USB.

    Please Help Me!

Here is an adapter for USB to RJ45, but I do not think it will help you. (It is going the wrong way) You need a USB controller for a USB device to work. Your PC is need to allow your DSL to connect.

I assume you are using ICS to give your PS2 access to the net. That may be the source of your slow down.

I use 4 computer and a PS2 on my 256K DSL line and do not have any issues. I have all systems connected using Ethernet.

You said your DSL router only supports USB. If you rented it, you could talk to your ISP to see if they can provide on that is Ethernet at no charge or if they will seel you one. You could then get a Linksys (or other brand) Cable/DSL router and connect you PC and PS2 to the router to avoid USB.

You have to tell us which version of Windows you have. Tell us what type of port the PS2 has. If it's Ethernet/RJ-45, you need a *crossover* cable to connect to the PC. Next, you have to set up the PC to share it's Internet Connection.

Another option would be to ask your ADSL provider to trade in your modem for one that will work with your PS2. They should have modems with either or both usb and ethernet connections. Then, adding a switch or router will allow sharing the connection easier.

ICS is windows built in Internet Connection Sharing. You said your DSL Modem was USB. That means it is plugged into your computer. For another device to have internet access, you need to use ICS or you have another method routing your PS2 to the Internet through your PC.
