    Mobile once again... Yee Haa!

Ok... I broke down and got another mobile 2500. Right now its running 12.5 x 200 at 1.7volts @34C loaded. I'm doing testing right now but 2.6ghz looks all most certain.
Any bets as to how long this one will last or how high it will go?
Or what I'm going to smoke next...(inside my computor).
    Enjoy!
    (Edit)
system (the important parts); A7N8X, uber 1004 BIOS,slk900a with a Tt smartfan2, 1 gig corsair XMS 3200 memory, lapped northbridge with speeze microfin heatsink, fortron/sparkle 430 watt power supply

What kind of heatsink do you have on there? Thats a nice overclock to have temps so low. As you saw im my other post Im workin on my 2800+ Barton...I would like to see it at 12.5x200

I am running a duct from the Tt smart fan 2 to the Thermalright SLK900A heat sink allowing me to cool with air from outside the case. The same setup on my old (reliable) non mobile 2500 barton gave me 41C on average (loaded) with a high this summer of around 46C. The duct gives me about 10C extra cooling (at a guess).
    Enjoy!

2.6 ghz 12.5 x 208 at 1.75v 40 C under load and still testing. It doesn't look like this processor will reach 2.7Ghz.
I wish Arctic silver 5 would break in more quickly.
    Enjoy!

    Ahaha YES! Go Happy

    Nice o/c so far Happy.

When mine was on air I got it up to 2.65GHz with 1.875Vcore, but the load temp was high (somewhere around 57C!)

Or what I'm going to smoke next...(inside my computor).
If you can cool it go for it... I got my 2600 at 2.2Vcore right now, 51C load. These chips are insane... I dont think you can give them enough Vcore!! (as long as you can keep it cool!)

I think I'm going to enjoy this one at 2.6 for a while, to let the AS-5 break in and push that 6800GT.
Yo...Drag whats your speed wet? I still have some pumps and things. So watercooling would only involve the cost of a waterblock. (edit) I think the overvoltage protection will limit me on this ASUS, I think that there is a mod to disable it on that EPOX. Oh yeah, I was rooting around the other day and found a pair of delta 90mm fans, now I just need a local source of plexiglass tube so that I can expand the duct from 3" to 3 1/2" (if I stay with air). I also changed the fan on the northbridge to 24 cfm and added sinks to the volatage regulators. Did you see much improvement from the fans on your memory?
Lodge... thanks, its good to be going fast again... I have a need for speed.
    Enjoy!

Well Happy I had it Prime at 220*12.5 for 16 hours at 2.2Vcore which was awesome! But I'm pretty sure I damaged the chip lol... after that 16 hour Prime I cant even run Prime for 20 minutes at the same speeds... and it seems to be getting more and more unstable now

bummer ... Thats about where I killed my first mobile, but it was never what you'd call, even a little, stable above 12.5 x 218.
    Enjoy!

Yeah, I think I did something similar to my rig. I don’t know if it’s my board or cpu, but I’m leaning towards the board. I can pass prime at a 221fsb but get this, it crashes to the desktop a lot in games. I lowered my bus down to 200 and all seems well, which is making me think that my board doesn’t like the high fsb anymore. I’m running prime right now at 200*12.5, midnight will be 12 hours and then I’ll play some games.

To make sure it wasnt a temp. issue I turned the computer off and the AC on for a while. When I tured the computer back on it was abouit 10C lower (CPU and Board temp) so I tried to run again at the lower temp... still no good. I got a total of 4 XP2600's lol, so I'm going to swap this one out with one of the others and see what happens It better not be the board! I dont see how it could be though.

I know I damaged my first mobile, it won't go much past 200 fsb now. I think that I damaged the mobo too (probably the northbridge) I used to be able to run at 218 fsb whith this board and memory but now it starts to boot and blackscreens at that speed. (I just had to try it last night)
I'm thinking about an NF7 or DFI infinity and retiringing this mobo to ligter internet duties. Stability is important, what do you guys think?
    Enjoy!

Get the DFI Infinity. I lets you give up to 3.3v to the ram, and you know that’s only beneficial to BH-5. 1.9v to the northbridge which can also help in achieving a high fsb. It only gives you 2v to the cpu, but I think that’s plenty unless you want to burn your chip up. Plus anything over 2v isn’t gonna get you much more clock anyway.

I like them both; It looks like the DFI has the initial advantage of a more BH-5 compatable bios and better adjustment range. Tic Tac is being especially prolific with modded BIOS for the NF7 though so that tends to nulify the compatability advantage. I hear the NF7 is somewhat more stable and volt mods to either will take care of letting the smoke out of any processer that I get.
    Truely, a quandry.

I was going to try a 64 bit but the 754 socket looks to be extremely limited and I don't like the mobo choices for the 939 (and there is just too much forcasted to be happening over the next year for me to pick a 939 right now)
    Enjoy!

Well Happy, let me know when you reach your final o/c.

I'll be very interested to see what your clock is compared to the Vcore. And did you note what stepping you got??
