midknyte, would you recomend increasing the memory more and the clock less or both equally. just now my max OC on my X800 pro is 550/1100, would it be better to increase the memory frequency and reduce the clock?? or does it not make that much difference. plus how do u change the vlotage? also gr8 score!!
You would really have to try both until you found the best mix. I think you have to do a little of both, but the memory seemed to make a bigger impact.
You could edit the bios to change the core voltage. Other times, you have to hardwire it. I just had to edit the bios for mines.
Try www.mvktech.net for bios utilities. Be sure to backup your bios before you start messing with it. I take no responsibility if you screw up your card.
do you actually run your card in the OCed state. cause IMO you dont really need to thats all. i think i will leave my card as is just now. dont want to break it so it stops working i dont want to have to explain to dad why the £300 card he got me is smoked. i mean its a revolutionary new type of cooling dad. hee hee its just Liquid nitrogen vapours. oh wait he has a PhD. lol
i overclock for benchmarking only. the way i see it is my card can run any game just now at rediculously high FPS (maybe bar doom 3 where it is just really really high) so i dont see the point in keeping it overclocked.
I guess I have some doubters out there. I ran it again and got a 5819, but I took a complete screenshot this time. It's a little hotter right now, so that might explain the dip. But what's a couple of points between friends, right?
