LED case fans: A possibility?have a che
I just came back from Frys and saw something I liked: LED fans. I have a 92mm? fan in the back of my case and I would like to replace it with a quiet LED fan. It's very quiet as of now, actually, but I don't want to trade silence for pretty lights. Anyways, I have a chepo-depot HP and the fan plugs right into the Motherboard. To make matters worse, the wimpy PSU is only 200w. can I put fans in without stressing the PSU/ mobo connection? thanks.

Each fan will put around 1-3 watts extra on your PSU. What do you have in your computer already? Perhaps a PSU upgrade might not be a bad idea for a more stable system.

what kind/speed processor are you using? video card? depending on how old the hardware is, you might not have to worry about it, however i would also suggest upgrading to at least a 350w power supply, and higher if you want to use it for future computers.
i always buy case and power supply together because they aren't that expensive together. you get look on newegg and get a decent case and psu for around $40-50.
about the noise, i like the fan noise :-P. but the fans aren't THAT loud. i have two led fans in mine and it's not so bad. i also keep my case open 24/7 so that makes it a bit louder. i think the look and cooling the fans offer is worth it.

I have a P4 2.53, 2 CD drives, 5400 rpm hard drive, 512 MB RAM. I have integrated video but that will change during the holidays . The fan plgs right into the motherboard, which is my main concern. I don't want to stress the motherboard. Thanks.

in my opinion you need a new psu anyways. also i would look for fans with the bigger 4 pin power connectors that connect directly to the psu. i got mine from best buy when i worked there so i forgot what kind they are but i'm sure xoxide or newegg has them. i would definitely do those instead of the motherboard ones.

Get an adapter to plug the fan into a molex lead, they are not very much.
Ive got LED fans on just about all my computers. Love them-
