    Underclocked 6800GT from ASUS, Gainword

Weeks back when I got my GT, mine came extrmly UNDERCLOCKED. I thought mine was the only one but today it seems that there few more underclocked 6800GT from big brands like Asus and Gainword.

Whats strange is that these cards do have the 6800GT GPU but they are clocked at 325mhz
also these cards come with regular DDR memory clocked at 700mhz

The Asus card here that is the 6800GT comes with only 128mb

These are card will surely perform much worse than regulat 6800GT that come clocked at 250/1000 DDR3 memory.

These cards are deceptively misnamed. The obvious tip that these are not 6800 GT chips is the DDR. The GT and Ultras carry DDR3 memory, GT is clocked at 1 GHz and 350 MHz core.

I saw the Asus card when it was released, and the specs didn't make sense to me. Now I see why. These are basically plain vanilla fx 6800 cards priced at GT levels. Bad business.

As stated, 325/700 is the standard clock for the 6800, not the GT.

GTs and Ultras have GDDR3 memory.

I dont think so. These do look like regular 6800 GT but with slower DDR memory

See the image on the Asus Box, look the Geforce logo. It clearly says 6800GT!

This even costs a bit more than the regular 6800Gt with DDR3

Yeah, the problem with the 6800GT is its only requirement is 16 pixel pipelines...DDR1 memory is still supported. As far as underclocking is concerned...now that's deceptive.
