cyrix 333
I have a cyrix 333 cpu on a pc chips 598 motherboard. Motherboard is set to automaticaly recognise cpu. When computer starts up it it shows i have a cyrix 333 running at 250 mhz. Why is it not running at 333? Thanks for any help

The Cyrix is a PR 333 (pentium rated) It runs at 250mhz and is s'pose to be equivalent to a Pentium 333. All Cyrix's chips are PR rated

exactley. Cyrix chips give you an "equivlant" rating to an intel. For example the cyrix P166 performed as well as the intel 166 but actually ran at 133mhz. (I actually still have one of those chips and its pretty fast)
