Who knows anything about UDMA/33 ?

I have a Aopen axbc motherboard in conjunction with a maxtor harddisk (90680D4).
Both support UDMA/33 interface, but benchmarks show me around 13 MB/s, which is UDMA mode 2. Do you know how to get my stuff working at 33 MB/s ?

If you look at the spec for your drive here

You will see that the maximum transfer rate from that drive is "Up to 18.6 MBs"

I'ld say you have it set up just right, and that's all you're gonna get.

There is no drive manufactured yet that makes it to a sustained transfer rate of 33MB/s.
33MB/s is the interface spec, not the spec of your drive.

The 33MB/sec data transfer rating is the theoretical 'maximum burst transfer' rate of the drive.

If you want to check the burst rate of your drive, it should be in the mid to upper 20's, you can do so by downloading HdTach from http://tcdlabs.com/ . Note, as the test finishes, you'll see a CPU percentage at the bottom of the window. This will be in the low single digits if the drive is utilizing DMA transfers. Something like 2 or 3 percent.
