    dvd drive burn speed

    Hey guys.. This might of already been posted somewhere but I'm haveing problems. I just got a 8x dvd burner and I got some 8x dvd memorex. For some reason though I can't burn dvd's faster then 4x. Wouldn't the drive have the firmware to work with 8x discs? hmmmmm

    Are the two drives mounted on different IDE ports? They need to be.

    Depends on what "mode" you're burning in too.

    What drive do you have = make+model???

    DVD-RAM burns slower than DVD-R burns slower than DVD+R.
