    Cases with unmodable sides

What is one supposed to do with a case that has a custom fan duct built right into its side? I'd love to stick in a small window but the vent gets in the way. The only thing I've been able to do so far is to stick some EL cable between the front 120mm fan and the dust filter so I get a red glow from around the front vent.
I can't even replace the 120mm fans (front and rear) as they use custom cables that connect the the case's built in fan controller.

Its a nice case and runs stuff at really good temps, but there ain't much I can do with it.
    My case

    Woe is me!

This looks like a sweet case.
Depending on how the side panel attaches you can either just replace it with some plexi, or if that is not possible; order a spare (I have learned the hard way that it is best to get an original spare while they are availiable, in case you change your mind later) then trim a large section out of the side (leaving a frame with the OEM attachment). Place your new window in the frame with the fan/duct placed wherever you like it.
I have been looking at the tinted and partially mirrored plexi recently which would give you nearly a stock look untill you turned on the lights.
(EDIT) it looks like your side duct has a lengthe adjustment, can you shorten it enough to get a lighted fan between the duct and the case side?
    Enjoy!

I bought a case with a side CPU exhaust, but nooooo my motherboard (MSI K8N Neo) has to be one of the 1 in 10000 of boards made that puts the CPU in the middle thus make the exhaust useless

Be differant and put in a window thats not square or round. Pick a design or some other such thing and theme the window accordingly.

If youve seen some of mine in other posts ive done horses, dolphins, regular windows and a black cat holloween scene with bats. Dragon is soon to come, when I have time.

Put a radiation cutout and a yellow light. Any sort of thing.

I'm thinking of a triangular (with rounded corners) window to place at the opposite position as the fan inlet. The only trouble is that the cormers are quite accute, so the rubber/plastic moulding that holds the plexi in might deform and make the whole thing look messy.
I may eventually go for a round one, use a clear moulding strip and whack in a blue EL cable or something so the while strip will glow.

You could always just forget the molding.
