it asks for a password..

I am trying to set up a small network between 3 pc's with win xp through a Linksys 4 port router....when I do a search for computer on network it finds it..but when I try to click it ,it asks me for a password.I put in the linksys default password of 'admin' but it doesn't work.What kind of password is this asking for?

please read the "best of" thread.

you need to have the same usernames and passwords on each computer. it's not talking about the linksys router password.

I dont' have any passwords on any pc ....and how could all the computers have the same usernames?

It not a matter of type of password.

It is a matter of setting the sharing between the computers the way you would like it to be. In other word you have to learn the options of setting your Network Manually.
