XP locked. i dont need password
so i just downloaded SP1 for XP home (SP1 not SP2)
now when i try to switch users or log off i dont see the welcome screen i get the classic logon prompt unlock computer screen
there are no passwords on the accounts
it was working fine until i DLd SP1
I am the administrator
how do i get the welcome screen back?unlock the puter?
I know the rules but i am not needing a password
the user accounts are set to fast switching and show welcome screen
i do have webshots installed and the show password after screensaver is unticked
I have tried reg hacks from MS Kbase but no joy
I cannot get support from MS cuz its OEM software

# 1. Go to Control Panel and Click Users.
# 2. Ensure that there is only 1 active account. All other accounts must be turned off.
# 3. Make Sure there is no password set for the user that is left active.
# 4. Click Change the way users log on or off.
# 5. Make sure Welcome screen is Enabled.

ok tries that and still no joy.
no password on the system anywhere.
the classic logon came back with "this computer has been locked only admin can unlock"
I am admin and i didn't lock the system in the first place?
How can i unlock the PC?
