Which u prefer?
What system should I get? I have only 2 choices? I like the 64bit processor but it limits me on choosing good video card, etc. This will be my system for 2-3 years.
A
Abit nf7-s
Mobile Barton 2500
ATI Radeon9800pro
512 PC3200 Ram
B
Athlon 64 (754) 3000
MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R Motheboard
512 PC3200 RAM
ATI Radeon 9550
Also need help choosing a heatsink?
Is this good for mobile-XP? I can also use this for A64 and P4.

yeah i agree the first system casue that video card will last a lot longer and the 9550 is pretty average indeed and also the mobile CPU's can be overclocked a looooooong way if you need a extra bit of speed after a year or 2.
also just an idea, you should consider buying 2 sticks of 256MB ram and run them dual channel as it will give you a performance gain. and this will help as 512 wont be a whole lot very soon so yeah get as much as you can out of 512 and dual channel is a great start to getting more from your totla MB's

Tnx for quick rep. I'm going to add another 512 Ram maybe this Xmas season so I'll get 1*512 and another 1 later. And for Athlon 64 how it is compare to mobile. If I'm going to A64 I think I can get RADEON PRO Pro this Xmas season and sell my 9550 (9550 is jst temporary card so i can run 64bit system w/ average gaming).
Abit nf7-s = 7,800
Mobile Barton 2500 = 6,800
ATI 9800pro = 13,300
512 PC3200 Ram = 5,500
= 33,400 / 57USD
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor = 13,000
MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R Motheboard = 7,488
ATI 9550 = 5,500 or I Can Go 9600 Pro = 7,000
512 PC3200 Ram = 5,500
= 31,488 add 1,500 for 9600pro / 57USD
Almost Same Price. My budget only 32k-35k/57usd max.
So... Mobile still better? Im going to OC but I'm not pushing my chip to its limit. Maybe around 2.2 - 2.4.

as the mobile athlon is capable of being very fast indeed, but i dont think either CPU will last 3 years at the rate we go at these days, and in the long run getting a Athlon 64 motherboard will make buying a new CPU cheaper after a while....... but then again the Athlon64 3000+ come in the 7xx pin design and well that is going to be faded out soon for the 939 pin design anyways so prolly wont be much hep you buying the A64 3000+ motherboard now, geez i dunno hey....... kinda a bad time to upgrade im afriad, thats why im holding off till early next year when the 939 pins 64's are cheap enough to buy because they are the future i reakon. Athlon 64's are better for games but dont overclock anywhere near the mobile CPU's ive seen those mobile one's go over 3000mhz on a few occasions so 2.5 - 2.7ghz would be fine for the 2500+ i reakon and that would be a games beast. and remember a CPU is nothing for games with out the video card so dont forget about it and i, and i think everyone would recommend the 9800Pro. i guess it will come down to personal preference, but i reakon the mobile CPU would be the way to go for your budget as i said before the socket that the A64 3000+ runs in wont be around for much longer as the main disadvantage it it can't run dual channel RAM where as the 939 pin A64's can run dual channel. hope this is some help

Tnx. I like the mobile but All im thinking is about 64bit processing and how good it is, since I can get a cheap A64rig worth almost equal to mobile barton but need to scarifice video card. Or better wait this Xmas for Full 939 System. But my shands are shaking right now on getting a new computer. I'm currently using old pentium III.
One more thing. Is this good HSF for mobile?

2,000 / 57USD

What are the specs of the 9800 pro you are looking at? Ex: 128mb or 256 mb? 128 bit or 256 bit? Core clock, memory clock, price?
