    compatibility between motherboard and hard disk

    hi everyone , i have a hard disk of 3GB and i want to buy
    a new one that is at least 40GB but i am not sure if it 's compatible with my mainboard .
    can anyone tell me how can know that my mainboard can support
    harddisk as from 40GB .

    That board might not run stuff above 128 GiB (137 GB), but you should be safe with anything up to that.

    ok let say i install the hard disk.what about the speed of data transfer.
    some people tell me that it would work very slowly.
    is it true???????

    transferring from the 3G to the new drive would be slow, but it should be normal otherwise.
