Funny how he talks about open source killing jobs and software piracy in the same breath. What about your 54 Billion $ in cash Billy??? He talks, I puke.

I must admit the idea that Open Source kills jobs seems just a little bit wide of the mark, given that the Open Source movement is such a niche market and definitley nowhere near mainstream it cant be eating into sales and profits that much. Similarly, if people are doign this stuff in their own time as a hobby, rather than professionally, how are they killing jobs? Most oepn source coders are probably also employed as professional coders and those that arent are if anything leaving vacancies for other-people.

While i could kinda see where he's coming from in the business sector, the fact that most open source software isnt free of charge for commerical usage, again kinda undermines his argument. Simiarly, money saved on open source as opposed to commercial software, could then be budgeted out to create new jobs within the company. It's all very "swings and roundabouts" as far as i can see

I agree with this. I have open source software but still have paid for several copies of Windows and use both regularly.

This is a good way to draw attention away from regaular lawsuits aimed at MS.
