    How to keep history

I am having hard time keeping my history on IE6. Usually I can view the history for the time specified in the history settings for a number of days. Suddenly I cannt view history even for a minute ago.

What are the other setting that affect this?

Incidnetally, I noticed that the privacy settings under internet options go back to "custome" each time I close and reopen explorer, even if I set them to default. There seems to be something that sets them back to custome. What could it be? When I set them to default and start working on internet, most of the history is preserved....

I have Win XP with SP1 and IE6 W/SP1 and made sure my computer is free from spyware. The only change to my system was the installation of System Mechanic v4.

    Any ideas? Thanks

Try using system restore to go back to when it was working properly.

I am afraid I made some changes that I dont want to lose. I am contacting the makers of Sys Mechanic to see if their software is responsible. I may need to uninstall it......

Uninstalling it is not a big deal, if it doesn't want to uninstall then you'll have to reinstall it to remove it from your system.

Or you could go to the windows/inf folder look for ie.inf rite clik and select install to correct to some corrupt system files concerning IE.
