pci soundcard midi problem

I got a aztech pci sc128 soundcard recently it sounds good waves are fine but when I try to hear midi files with the wavetable synthesiser a hear a fraction of a second of sound then nothing the midi player works fine it's only the wavetable that won't work I won't mention the dos probs

Change the MIDI device in the Multimedia tool in Control Panel to another device
(such as the FM Synth or MPU-401 device)
