Setting default browsing to tabbed browsing in Mozilla??

So how do i do that?

I just want to make it the default action.

Like what you get in opera or Myie2.

    Using Mozilla 1.7 here.

    TIA

it seems me doing somethin wrong...

I got the same settings but still when i click any link it loads in the same page or in a new window, i want it to open in a tab though.

I dunno if am putting it in the write words here.

In html, there are certain links like:

    <a href="http://www.resellerratings.com" target="_blank">Reseller Ratings</a>

In IE, that will open a new window for resellerratings.com

In opera or Myie2, it will open in a new tab.

where as in Mozilla, I need to set the option

    "Middle-click, Ctrl+Click or Ctrl+Enter in a web page"

and use CTRL+ left click of mouse to open the page in a tab.

How can i make tab the default behaviour for such links?

I just want the links that normall open in a new window should open in a tab which is what opera and MyIE2 does.

Have you tried right-clicking the link and selecting "Open in new tab"?

    yeah, thats another way.

I thought may be there could be some way of opening such links in a new tab automatically without having to do a right click or using CTRL.

    guess not....

Think firefox has a tabbrowser extension http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/ that might do that otherwise most of them don't have this option to open more windows as tabs. All I could get for netscape was moving tab to first option on rite clik but that didn't work editing the a specific file in chrome folder.

    Holy cool....thats a great extension

it works for all links now, Mozilla only opens tabs for all types of links.

    coooooollllllllll

After installing the extension, there is a different Tab menu with lots of options plus a different Tab preference where you can set for opening of tabs for most types.

See: "Open tabs (instead of Windows) for " in the image.

    Big thanks to rangeral......

Figures it wouldn't work in netscape cause its an aol product with no real ties to mozilla but in there defense they still did a good job improving it, d/l mozilla 1.7 now.

Got spoiled on the tabbed browsing as it is so having all links open in another tab is appropo.

Either I was d/l the wrong plugin not paying attention or getting 1.7 with the plugin made it work in netscape 7.1, good whatever works for me.

now i just don't want to move on to any other browser.

This is by far the bestest experience.

Tabbed Browsing is great...simply love this feature.

BTW: There is an option called Lock TAB

set it and all links regardless of whether they open in the current tab or are set to open in a new tab, will always open in a new tab.

in other word, all links open in new tab.

    ...just playing around with settings

hmm....interesting even when you click the smilies in the reply box at sysopt, then open up in new tabs.....hehe beware this is a dangerous setting.

also SHIFT+CLICK opens the links in new tab....usually it saves the html file it points to.

The rite clik gives you the "open in this tab" option, third one down. I'm already getting used to it but I'll look around a little more though I don't think you can have both options.

    hmm....

    I don't get that option.

I wish there had been a default option to revert back to original settings.

I dunno what an active tab means as you can see in that image, thats my third option.

EDIT: I got it but not in the right clk menu. After i enabled expert preferences i can only see the setting "Open in this Tab" in "Context Menu"

but its shaded...I can't enable or disable it.Seems like i have messed up somewhere.
