I hope they can break from the GTA mold, but it's not likely since that's what everyone wants nowadays.

Hey, why not? Games have been doing cheap and nasty ripoffs of Scarface for years

Yeah, GTA:VC for example, WAS a cheap and nasty ripoff of Scarface, just not that nasty.

Scarface is not only (arguably) the greatest movie in Al Pacino and Oliver Stone's (despite his creative differences with DePalma) illustrious careers respectively, it is also the film which Brian DePlama's reputation is based on IMO, "Carlito's Way" aside (which also features Al Pacino and Seann Penn in an unrecognisable role as his lawyer - the inspiration for the coke fuelled ginger lawyer in Vice City) ive never seen a Brian DePlama film what has really impressed me that much to rate him as one of the 'all time great' directors, it shows just how good a movie(s) Scarface and Carlito's Way really are that they should more or less single handedly, bring DePalma's reputation amongst movie fans up the the level of the likes of Scorcese, Tarantino, Woo etc..
