NOTE: Compatibility and driver availability is still fermenting...there's companies all over the place that will still be issuing beta drivers for some time. It's best to do your own homework with the programs you have BEFORE taking the plung off the deep end.

To quote a mod's quote from a post awhile ago, "You can always spot the pioneers by the arrows sticking out of their back."

    Onward with Links and info!!!

Paul Thurrott's SuperSite: Vista This guy has been documenting the progress of Vista from its early inception with Longhorn. If you haven't hit his site by now, your google's broken....Read it!!

Some links to quick areas of his site:
    Compatibility
    Vista Product Editions
    Installing Windows Vista

    What CPU's are Vista Compatible?
    AMD
    Intel

    What about my current system?
    Microsoft Vista Upgrade Advisor

    Popular Hardware:
    Creative Labs Forum
Creative Labs Drivers I can tell you...As of this writing, Creative hasn't even put a pioneer in the praire. Beta drivers are still very lacking

Plextor Latest firmware is officially supported for most newer models. Software is the lagging factor. Various burning applications are having problems with Vista

nVidia ...drivers working fine. Heck, even having no drivers, Vista works pretty well.

ATI Best find out for yourself.../cough nVidia fan /cough

    Support:
    Microsoft Windows Vista Forums
    Microsoft Windows Vista Support

That's all I got for now. Good luck, and Please post your favorite links to all things Vista here so we can keep the animals in a relatively few cages!
