Not sure if this is what your looking for. I use the Nostromo N52 for COD and other FPS and would never use anything else. Once I got it, never looked back.

Controllers are useless for FPS games, the mouse and keyboard combo is what makes the PC so good for FPS', to use a console woudl ruin the game experience (as proven by any FPS on any console which play absoloutley dog, even the good ones such as Goldeneye)

dozer- I've tried, but aiming is awkward. Aiming on the vertical plane is VERY difficult because if you are moving the cross hair in one direction and want to go the other way a little bit, you have to move the joystick much further.

The joystick sort of works for movement, but again, if you want to move left or right quickly, you have to completely change the direction you are moving.

Not to mention, due to the threshold, overshooting the aim is pretty easy, so you have to move the other way in little increments a lot, which is difficult.

Some games benefit from the nature of the joystick, such as mechwarrior 3 and up. space flight games that make use of the joystick are also good candidates, but some of the better ones don't.
