Prescotts have some major heat output. get a "C" for sure if you want to OC.

Get the 2.8C, it is only around $15-20 more then the 2.4C
    P4 3.0Ghz
    512 DDR
    80 Gig
    GeFource Fx 5900
    Audigy 2 Platinum
    Creative 6.1 6600

    Whats not to love

yeh but ive been doing some reading... well 2.4E not what im looking for... as for the 2.8E kinda interest me.... the 2.8E is slower than the 2.8C but once OC speeds get insane and plus the cache would be great for multi tasking....

as for my plan for cooling the hot CPU i plan on going TEC... what you think?? i think it would be enough to get good OC and keep it cooled.. let me know.. am im going down the wrong road?

As many have stated the 2,8E is hot, VERY VERY hot, so OCing without water or even vapor coolong would not get you far at all, the 1MB cache is good but wont justify the performance loss you get from the longer pipeling. The 2.8C is a better choice all the way.

I wouldn't even consider a prescott at this time.
