    q3 server guru needed

    Hello,
I have a lynksys switch and Comcast cable . Comcast just doubled our speeds in florida and I have been eager to host a q3 server.
I mostly play OSP and decided to use the OSP server cfg to set up my server and create my batch file. Well onto my problem.

When I set up a server Mostly people from the U.K or other countries connect with about 150 ping. when People from the U.S.A connect they get about 90 to 100 ping. Very weird. Is there anyway to let the master server know your hosting from the U.S.A. My copy of q3 was purrchased here in florida in 2000. I don't get this probelm when hosting unreal 2k3 server. People sometimes get 20 ping off me In PA.

I went ahead and up'd the hunk megs (allocated system memerory set aside for server alone) to 180 megs. The system I'm trying to host on is a 1700+ athlon running 512k DDR. Is there something diffrent i should do with my network? Shoud l I not use TCPIP? Kinda off subject around here but any help would be great. Eagerly waiting from doom III !!!

comcast doubled my speed as well... they however only doubled the download they did not double the upload, upload is what matters when hosting a server , 90 - 100 ping is about what you should expect on a 256 upload.
