Autoexec. Files Replicating ??
Win95osr2 Op Sys.
In the few weeks I've started to have shutdown freezes (refer post 22/2/99)
In that time I've noticed Autoexec files replicating in C:\
This is a list of whats in my C:\
Autoexec.000
Autoexec.001
Autoexec.003
Autoexec.004
Autoexec.005
Autoexec.006
Autoexec.bat
Autoexec.dos
Autoexec.m01
Autoexec.nu3
Autoexec.old
autoexec.pak
Autoexec.syd
Some of these files have creation dates within the period I've had shutdown problems (which continues to this day and I' haven't been able to isolate the problem to date).
Can someone advise if these Autoexec files are a indication of a problem or they are ok.
If they are a indication of a problem what do I do to correct this?
Thanks Lee

Windows writes Autoexec.bat again and again because it makes copies what you can undo if you want. Reason of it is the windows shutdown hanging, try uninstalling software whart you last install or reinstall windows.

just delete them, But jeesh your system is unstable.
Those are hard crashes that cause that.
I bet you find file.001, 002,003ck also.
You have something wrong more than it just writing a new auto exec file.
